Gears of War: E-DAY goes gold; pre-load and early access dates announced

The Coalition announced on September 18, 2026 that Gears of War: E-DAY has gone gold and provided official pre-load and early access timings for the upcoming release.

The studio said the game’s development is now complete and that the team will move to focus on launching the title and making any final adjustments if needed. Alongside the gold announcement, The Coalition referenced pre-install timing and published full PC specifications in its release.

Pre-load for players who own the game on Xbox or PC will begin on September 29, 2026 at 8:00 AM PST. The Coalition also confirmed that pre-load will be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

Customers who have purchased the Premium Edition will receive early access beginning October 1, 2026 at 8:00 AM PST, allowing them to play before the official launch.

The full launch is scheduled for October 6, 2026 at 8:00 AM PST for Xbox Series X|S and PC, as stated by the developer.

Studio head Mike Crump marked the milestone by thanking everyone on his team who helped bring the project to completion and acknowledging the fans who have waited for the franchise’s comeback. The Coalition has also released the Gears of War: E-DAY achievements list; the studio warned that it may contain spoilers and advised readers to proceed with caution.

Players can begin pre-loading the game on September 29 at 8:00 AM PST, Premium Edition owners will gain access on October 1 at 8:00 AM PST, and the title will officially launch on October 6 at 8:00 AM PST for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
