Oklahoma City beat the Los Angeles Clippers 108-101 on Sunday night, but All-Star guard Jalen Williams suffered an apparent serious leg injury and was stretchered off the court.

Shai-Gilgeous Alexander scored 34 points as the Thunder remained undefeated, recording their third straight win to start the season; the team also lost three players to injury during the contest. Thunder coach Mark Daigneault said the situation was difficult, adding later that the club would receive an update on Williams’s status on Monday.

The 25-year-old Williams went down hard on a drive to the basket with 1:14 left, his left leg giving way as he landed and his foot bending at an unnatural angle. He left the court on a stretcher with towels covering the injured leg and covered his mouth with his hands when he looked down at the injury. Players on both teams, including Gilgeous-Alexander, appeared to be in shock as Williams was carried off.

Mark Daigneault addressed the injuries after the game, saying: "We're not doing great." The coach spoke following the Thunder’s victory but did not provide further medical details at the arena. Team officials said they would provide more information on Williams’s condition on Monday.

Gilgeous-Alexander was in tears as he spoke about Williams after the game. "I just feel bad for him," Gilgeous-Alexander said. "It's obviously going to be tough without a player like that. But he's not gone for ever. He'll be back better than ever, and we know it. We've just got to hold the fort down until he comes back."

Thunder guard Cason Wallace (left shoulder soreness) and forward Jaylin Williams (right wrist soreness) both left the game in the first quarter and did not return. Those exits, alongside Williams’s late injury, left the team short-handed for the closing stages of the contest.

Williams missed 49 games last season due to a variety of injuries but was a key part of the Thunder's title campaign in 2025. Daigneault said the team would be updated on the injury on Monday.
