Gloucester thrashed Harlequins at Kingsholm in the Premiership on 2026-10-03, running in eight tries as George Barton kicked four conversions to take the hosts to the top of the early standings. Harlequins failed to score and remain bottom of the table without any points.

The Cherry and Whites recorded a second league victory from two and a third successive win in all competitions, naming three new signings in their starting line-up that included Wales internationals Jac Morgan and Dewi Lake. Charlie Atkinson scored after a 50:22 and had signed a new deal three days earlier committing his long-term future to the club. Harlequins handed a debut to England full-back George Furbank.

Gloucester opened the scoring from a progressive move down the right that allowed Charlie Atkinson to find Ben Loader with a pinpoint kick and Loader dotted down. Will Evans was sent to the sin bin as Harlequins tried to stop the hosts on their own line, and Morgan barged over in the left corner shortly afterwards. On the stroke of half-time Will Trenholm forced over from close range and George Barton slotted the conversion from touch.

A 50:22 from scrum-half Caolan Englefield put Gloucester in position early in the second quarter and Charlie Atkinson broke a tackle to score next to the sticks; Barton added the simple conversion to leave the hosts 24 points to the good at half-time. Gloucester maintained control after the interval, moving the ball quickly to create further opportunities.

Two short passes in open play sent Seb Atkinson racing to the line for Gloucester's fifth try, and a poor restart from Connor Slevin that failed to travel 10 metres underlined Harlequins' struggle for momentum. Will Joseph’s outstanding run and offload then created the chance for Englefield to dive over, before Joseph finished a subsequent attack by diving to the right of the posts to claim Gloucester’s seventh try.

Charlie Atkinson’s kick to the corner produced the eighth try when Barton juggled and grounded successfully, and although Joseph thought he had added a second late on that would have taken Gloucester past 50 points, the score was ruled out for a knock-on in the build-up.
