Golden Eagles and Xen Stars reach inaugural WAPL final

Godavari Golden Eagles and Rayalaseema Xen Stars secured places in the inaugural Women's Andhra Premier League final on September 26, 2026, with the Golden Eagles' win coming at the ACA International Stadium in Mangalagiri. The Golden Eagles beat Vizag Firebirds by 27 runs and Xen Stars defeated Amaravathi e-Champions by 32 runs to book spots in Sunday's title match.

Godavari Golden Eagles elected to bat and built a platform before K. Pushpitha accelerated the innings late. Pushpitha scored 91 n.o. off 56 balls (10x4, 4x6) and, together with skipper Henrietta Flavia Pereira, added 100 runs in the second half of the innings. In the 17th over P. Sarayu conceded 22 runs, including two maximums over wide long-on and long-off. Vizag Firebirds’ chase never got going; they succumbed to their fourth loss of the campaign and will finish the season rock bottom.

Rayalaseema Xen Stars defeated Amaravathi e-Champions by 32 runs to seal its spot in the title clash. E. Padmaja’s unbeaten half-century (61 n.o., 29b, 9x4, 1x6) helped Xen Stars set a 173-run target, with V. Setu Sai contributing 31.

Amaravathi e-Champions looked poised in the chase thanks to Deeksha Katragadda (42) and K. Devika (39), but once those batters fell Xen Stars tightened the grip and completed the win. Amaravati e-Champions were dismissed for 140 in 19.4 overs, with Vasavi claiming 4/23.
