Goswami and Balaprasath take a race each in Formula LGB4 at Kari Motor Speedway
Dhruv Goswami and Balaprasath each won a race in the Formula LGB4 category of the CTR-JK Tyre FMSCI Indian National Car Racing Championship at the Kari Motor Speedway circuit in Chettipalayam, Coimbatore on Sunday, the season’s opening round.
The meeting was affected by rain and multiple safety-car interruptions, making the races challenging; Dhruv Goswami (Meco Racing) and Balaprasath (Dark Don Racing) emerged with one victory apiece after holding their nerve, according to the report.
In LGB Formula 4 Race 1 Dhruv Goswami (Meco Racing) finished in 21:59.775 with Mehul Agarwal (Dark Don Racing) second in 22:00.131 and Arya Singh (Dark Don Racing) third in 22:00.505. Race 2 was won by Balaprasath (Dark Don Racing) in 15:42.097, with Mehul Agarwal again runner-up in 15:42.489 and Raghul Rangasamy (Meco Racing) third.
Anish Shetty won the professional class of the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup after moving up from fifth to first, crossing the line in 13:13.577; Navaneeth Kumar was second in 13:17.668 and Senthil Kumar third in 13:18.610.
In the amateur Continental GT Cup category Kabir Sahoch completed a weekend hat-trick, surviving early chaos and a collision between Shyamal Das and Akash Boro to win by 1.793 seconds and set the fastest lap at 1:19.452. In the JK Tyre Levitas Cup Gentleman class Pratik Sonawane recorded a pole-to-flag win by 5.053 seconds in 14:44.279, ahead of Sidharth Balasundaram (14:49.332) and Vinith Kumar (14:52.419).
Rookie class action saw Aadam Junaid claim a second successive victory, finishing in 14:54.128 with Shreyans Mittal second in 15:24.979 and Ajay Sankar third in 15:24.980. The Indian Super Touring Cars finale was won by Biren Pithawalla (Team N1 Intervalve) in 16:23.827, who snatched victory from Arjun Narendran (Arka Motorsports) at the final corner; Narendran was second in 16:26.307 and Anant Pithawalla (Team N1 Intervalve) third in 17:01.631.
