Great Britain’s men's team successfully defended their team gold at the European Gymnastics Championships in Zagreb on 23 August 2026, finishing on 246.728 points. Courtney Tulloch, Joe Fraser, Harry Hepworth, Jonas Rushworth and Sol Scott secured the title after a final-rotation showdown with World Gymnastics Group 2 (WG2/Russia).

It was the first time Britain had successfully defended the men's team title after winning gold a year ago in Leipzig. Britain finished third in the qualifiers after making several mistakes. In the final they opened strongly on the pommel, rings and vault and held the lead at the halfway stage.

Mistakes on the parallel bars and high bar narrowed the margin, leaving less than a mark separating Britain and WG2 heading into the final rotation. The contest went down to the last routine. Harry Hepworth, who had taken individual floor bronze on Friday, produced a big floor score that secured the victory for Britain.

Fraser, who won gold in the high bar and bronze in the parallel bars on Saturday, said: "This means everything, it's about consistency in team competitions, fighting through routines, pushing till the end and that's exactly what we did." "I'm unbelievably proud of each and every member of this team," he added. "It got close towards the end but we held our nerve and were absolutely delighted," said Fraser. "The team competition is the big one and we've won it again, incredible," he said.

Earlier this week Britain retained team gold at the junior European Championships. Britain topped the overall medal table with nine medals, four of which were gold.

Qualifying for the men's team final meant Britain had already secured a place at the World Gymnastics Championships in October in Rotterdam, which will serve as the first Olympic qualifying event for the 2028 Games in Los Angeles. Their place at Rotterdam was confirmed by reaching the men's team final.
