Insider NateTheHate told outlets the clips appear to come from an older development build, likely about a year old, and fans have speculated the footage could date to 2025. The leaked gameplay shows a 6-star wanted system and a separate karma or reputation mechanic that the report notes seems similar to Red Dead Redemption 2. The footage suggests police can identify a player by face, clothing and getaway car, and that altering those elements can reduce wanted level.
Vehicles in the clips display deeper systems: cars require fuel and maintenance, trunks include storage and loadout slots, and collisions can deplete player health. The leak also indicates objects in the world respond with more detailed physics, affecting how items behave after impacts.
Player and NPC interactions shown in the footage include melee attacks that appear to consume stamina or energy, and non-player characters exhibiting road rage that can lead them to exit their vehicles and fight. The clips also show a basketball minigame where the character Jason uses a Focus bar while shooting.
Additional systems seen in the leaks include two in-game currencies — one tied to a safehouse and one for the player — and a full map labelled Leonida described in the posts as an island. A separate clip shared by Cyberleek displays a user driving and striking other players in apparent PvP gameplay.
Cyberleek has threatened Take Two, Sony and Rockstar Games regarding the leaks and has suggested further releases if action is not taken. With the footage reportedly from an older build, Rockstar’s Extended Look on August 27, 2026 remains the next official opportunity for the company to confirm which of these features will appear in the final game.
