Tottenham have accepted a loan offer from Juventus for goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, and the Italy international is set to travel to Turin to complete the move, a report published on 17 August 2026 said. The arrangement includes a non-mandatory £8.6m option to make the transfer permanent.

Vicario, 29, has five international caps after making his Italy debut in 2024 and would be returning to Serie A. He made 117 appearances for Spurs after joining from Empoli for £17.2m in 2023.

Juventus had previously pursued Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, but that pursuit collapsed as Villa moved close to signing Parma's Zion Suzuki. Martinez was known to have an injured finger and is currently unavailable for selection.

At Tottenham, Vicario lost his place under manager Roberto de Zerbi, who promoted understudy Antonin Kinsky to the first-team role last season. De Zerbi has since confirmed Kinsky will remain his first-choice goalkeeper for the new season, and Spurs added Martin Dubravka on a free transfer from Burnley in July to provide competition and cover.

The move comes amid a significant transfer period for Spurs, who have signed six players while targeting two further attacking additions. The club have also sold, loaned out or released several former first-team players, including captain Cristian Romero, England international Djed Spence and Yves Bissouma.

Vicario is set to travel to Turin to finalise the loan, which contains the non-mandatory £8.6m purchase option.
