Hardik Pandya back in IPL trade talks with Chennai and Kolkata among suitors

Hardik Pandya, captain of Mumbai Indians, has drawn renewed trade interest in discussions ahead of the IPL 2027 season, with reports saying multiple franchises have contacted Mumbai Indians about a potential deal.
No trade has been completed and talks are at an early stage, with the next three to four weeks set to be important as Mumbai Indians weigh their options before the IPL 2027 retention deadline on November 15.
Kricbuzz has reported that several IPL teams have made enquiries to Mumbai Indians about Pandya, and that one unnamed franchise has shown more interest than the others; Mumbai Indians have also held talks with Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, but there is currently no agreement with any club.
Pandya remains a Mumbai Indians player and has been an important part of the franchise in recent years; his earlier spell with Gujarat Titans is also noted for bringing success during that period.
Fitness is expected to be a significant factor in any decision: the all-rounder has not played competitive cricket since the IPL and recently missed selection for India A's ODI series against Australia because of an injury.
Fresh enquiries have expanded the options available to Mumbai Indians as they plan their squad for IPL 2027, and Pandya's experience and all-round skills have been cited as reasons for sustained interest from other teams.
There is no confirmed trade at this stage and Mumbai Indians are continuing to consider their options ahead of the November 15 retention deadline for IPL 2027.
