Hardik Pandya close to joining Punjab Kings as Arshdeep Singh and Vishnu Vinod linked to Mumbai Indians

Punjab Kings are close to signing Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya ahead of IPL 2027, Khel Now reported on November 3, 2026. The proposed swap would see India fast bowler Arshdeep Singh and wicketkeeper-batter Vishnu Vinod move from Punjab Kings to Mumbai Indians.
A Sportstar report said the senior management of both franchises have nearly agreed terms on the transaction. Punjab Kings are seeking an experienced Indian all-rounder and regard Hardik Pandya’s ability with both bat and ball as suiting that requirement. The deal is reported to be subject to formalities with paperwork expected to be completed by IPL officials and an official announcement possibly coming later this week.
Under the terms being discussed, Arshdeep Singh and Vishnu Vinod would join Mumbai Indians in exchange for Hardik Pandya. Arshdeep is expected to bolster Mumbai’s pace resources. Vishnu Vinod would provide an Indian wicketkeeping option for the franchise.
Arshdeep has been described as an important part of Punjab Kings’ bowling attack in recent seasons. Punjab used a Right to Match (RTM) card to bring him back for Rs. 18 crore at the 2025 mega-auction. Reports say he could now be on his way to Mumbai as part of the proposed deal.
Hardik Pandya returned to Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans ahead of IPL 2024. He had earlier captained Gujarat to the IPL title in 2022. His three seasons as Mumbai captain have not gone as expected, with Mumbai finishing near the bottom of the points table on two occasions.
The proposed trade has not been officially confirmed by either franchise. Both teams are expected to make their final decisions before the IPL 2027 retention deadline. If the swap is completed, Hardik Pandya could represent Punjab Kings in IPL 2027.
The IPL 2027 mini-auction is scheduled to take place in Goa on December 16.
