Hardik Pandya could be traded from Mumbai Indians with Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals linked for IPL 2027

Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya could be moved to another franchise ahead of the 2027 Indian Premier League, media reports said on Nov. 5, 2026. Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals are the two sides most prominently linked to a potential trade, with Punjab reportedly leading the interest.
Reports state Mumbai Indians have contacted multiple franchises to explore a possible trade for Hardik Pandya. The all-rounder returned to Mumbai from Gujarat Titans ahead of IPL 2024 and succeeded Rohit Sharma as captain that season. Under his leadership, MI failed to reach the playoffs in two of the three campaigns he has captained. Hardik has also been managing injury problems and has not played competitive cricket since IPL 2026.
Punjab Kings are described in several reports as the frontrunners to secure Hardik if a deal proceeds. The Hindu reported both franchises are in advanced discussions and outlined a proposed exchange that would send India pacer Arshdeep Singh and wicketkeeper-batter Vishnu Vinod to Mumbai in return for Hardik. PBKS are said to be seeking an experienced all-rounder to bolster their squad, with Hardik expected to join as a player and Shreyas Iyer likely to remain their captain.
Rajasthan Royals have also been linked to Hardik in media coverage, with Cricbuzz reporting that RR offered young batter Yashasvi Jaiswal together with Ravi Bishnoi in a proposed trade package. The same coverage indicated Rajasthan could consider giving Hardik a leadership role if he were to move to their franchise. Despite those reports, Punjab were described as currently ahead in the race to sign him.
Mumbai Indians remain a possible destination if the franchise elects against trading their captain. Indian Express reporting suggested MI are looking to strengthen their bowling unit and have received offers from other teams as part of those efforts. Franchise officials have explored different trade options, and the club could retain Hardik for IPL 2027 if no acceptable proposal materialises.
Trade discussions between the involved franchises are ongoing and, if concluded, will determine whether Hardik Pandya represents Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals or remains with Mumbai Indians for the IPL 2027 season.
