Hardik Pandya linked to Punjab, Suryakumar Yadav eyed by LSG as Mumbai Indians weigh reshuffle

Mumbai Indians are facing potential changes ahead of the Indian Premier League's 2027 season after reports on 3 November 2026 linked Hardik Pandya with an approach from Punjab Kings and Suryakumar Yadav with interest from Lucknow Super Giants. The offers, reported by SportsTak, have created speculation over the futures of two players central to Mumbai's recent teams.
The possible exits would represent a notable reshuffle for the five-time champions, a franchise long built around an established core of Indian stars. SportsTak reported that Punjab Kings had made an approach for Hardik Pandya that could involve a straight swap with Arshdeep Singh, although Mumbai Indians are understood to want additional players included in any exchange.
Hardik returned to Mumbai ahead of the 2024 season after a spell elsewhere, and reports say he had earlier explored a move to Gujarat Titans that did not materialise after he sought the captaincy. He left Mumbai before the 2022 season to join Gujarat Titans and took on that franchise's captaincy, leading them to the title in their debut season and to another final in 2023.
The 32-year-old remains described in the report as one of the most valuable Indian all-rounders in the IPL for his contributions with bat and ball and his leadership experience. Mumbai brought him back ahead of the 2024 campaign and handed him the captaincy in place of Rohit Sharma, but his second stint did not deliver the consistency the franchise had expected.
SportsTak also reported that Lucknow Super Giants have shown interest in Suryakumar Yadav and are considering him for a leadership role after parting ways with Rishabh Pant following IPL 2026. The report noted that LSG's decision to invest heavily in Pant ahead of the 2025 season did not bring the desired results and that the franchise is exploring other options as it plans for 2027.
Suryakumar joined Mumbai Indians in 2018 after beginning his IPL career with Kolkata Knight Riders and was instrumental in Mumbai's title-winning campaigns in 2019 and 2020. He earned an India debut in 2021 and has also led India in T20 internationals, credentials that SportsTak cited as part of his appeal as a captaincy candidate for Lucknow.
According to the report, Mumbai are reluctant to let both players leave in the same transfer window and would consider trading Suryakumar to Lucknow only if Hardik remains at the franchise. Both transfer situations are described as still developing and neither move has been confirmed.
With Punjab reported to be pursuing Hardik and Lucknow assessing Suryakumar, Mumbai Indians face decisions over the futures of two players as they look to reshape their squad ahead of the new season.
