Hardik Pandya has been traded to Punjab Kings with Arshdeep Singh set to join Mumbai Indians in a swap reported on November 7, 2026 during the IPL 2027 trade window, according to journalist Rahul Rawat. Both franchises have reportedly submitted paperwork to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) with the consent of the players.

The IPL 2027 mini-auction is scheduled for December 16, 2026 and the BCCI set November 17 as the deadline for franchises to submit their retained and released player lists. Teams have been active in the trade window ahead of that deadline, and several franchises were said to be keen to acquire Hardik Pandya. Reports of a fallout between Mumbai Indians management and Pandya emerged before the window opened. The 33-year-old all-rounder is set to represent Punjab Kings in IPL 2027.

Pandya began his IPL career with Mumbai Indians in 2015 and remained with the franchise through the 2021 season. He was released ahead of the 2022 auction and was then acquired by the newly formed Gujarat Titans. That move preceded his leadership spell at Gujarat.

While with Gujarat Titans, Pandya captained the side to the IPL title in their inaugural season and the franchise returned to the final in 2023. Mumbai Indians later reacquired him in an all-cash trade with Gujarat Titans ahead of the 2024 season, a transaction the source described as historic. Reports at the time indicated Pandya wanted to return to Mumbai and the franchise handed him the captaincy, replacing Rohit Sharma.

During Pandya’s three-year stint as Mumbai’s captain, the team qualified for the playoffs only once. Mumbai Indians have since initiated another restructuring of their leadership and coaching setup, with Kieron Pollard taking charge of the coaching staff for IPL 2027.

As part of that restructuring, the swap will see Pandya move to Punjab and Arshdeep Singh bolster Mumbai’s bowling resources, according to the reports. Several outlets additionally reported that Rohit Sharma will resume the captaincy for another season with Tilak Varma named as his deputy.

Both franchises completing the necessary paperwork with player consent leaves the trade positioned ahead of the BCCI’s November 17 roster deadline, with the mini-auction scheduled for December 16, 2026.
