Harshit Rana to play one match for Delhi before joining India-A for Rising Stars Asia Cup

Published in New Delhi on November 06, 2026, pacer Harshit Rana will play one game for Delhi in the 2026-27 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy before linking up with the India-A squad for the ACC Rising Stars Asia Cup in Doha.

Delhi’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy campaign is due to start on November 14 in Indore, and the Rising Stars Asia Cup is scheduled to take place from November 19 to 29. Harshit has spent extended periods on the sidelines this year because of multiple injuries. The 24-year-old, who is also a capable lower-order batter, missed the T20 World Cup in February-March with a knee injury.

He returned to fitness after the IPL and featured in five games on the T20I tours of Ireland and England before coming home with a hamstring problem. In September, Harshit suffered a rectus femoris strain during a match simulation at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. Those interruptions limited his availability ahead of the domestic T20 competition.

Delhi have named a 16-member squad for the tournament and have retained pace options alongside Harshit. Mayank Yadav has been selected and is expected to play the entire Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy campaign for Delhi.

The squad also includes 38-year-old Ishant Sharma, whose inclusion the report says suggests he continues to harbour hopes of featuring in the IPL. Ayush Badoni will captain the side and has been described as being in "sublime touch in the longer format this season."

The full 16-member Delhi squad is: Ayush Badoni (capt.), Priyansh Arya, Sarthak Ranjan, Yash Dhull, Ayush Doseja, Tejasvi Dahiya (wk), Anuj Rawat (wk), Himmat Singh, Mayank Rawat, Keshav Dabas, Suyash Sharma, Digvesh Rathi, Ishant Sharma, Harshit Rana, Mayank Yadav, Simarjeet Singh.

Harshit’s immediate next fixture is a return to competitive action for Delhi against Jammu & Kashmir at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.
