Hayden slams selectors for recalling Nic Maddinson ahead of South Africa series

Matthew Hayden criticised the Australian national selection panel for bringing Nic Maddinson back into the fold for the upcoming series against South Africa, saying he had strong concerns about the decision.
Maddinson has not played any first-class matches since early 2025, a point Hayden highlighted as raising questions about selection standards.
Hayden said players with stronger first-class records should be prioritised and cited Sam Harper as a more deserving option.
