Henry Cejudo to make professional boxing debut against Javon 'Wanna' Walton in Miami on Sept. 26

Former UFC two-division champion Henry Cejudo will make his professional boxing debut against actor and pro boxer Javon “Wanna” Walton at Misfits Boxing’s event at James L. Knight Arena in Miami, Florida, on Saturday, September 26. Walton is best known for playing Ashtray in HBO’s Euphoria and enters the fight with a professional record of 3-0-1, 1 KO.

Cejudo had been scheduled to face influencer Nurideen Shabazz, better known as Deen the Great, before Shabazz withdrew because of an injury. “I knew all along that Dean The B**** would back out, and so I am not surprised,” Cejudo said in a statement to ESPN. “But I have a new opponent now, who thinks he’s a fighter, but Wanna will be playing another robot by the time I’m done with him.”

Cejudo’s combat-sports résumé includes UFC championship reigns at flyweight and bantamweight and a UFC record of 16-6 compiled between 2014 and 2025. He has lost his last four fights, most recently suffering a unanimous decision defeat to Payton Talbott in December 2025. Before his MMA career, Cejudo won Olympic gold at the 2008 Beijing Games at age 21 and was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2018.

Walton is signed to Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions and turned professional in boxing in 2023 after a 20-9 amateur career. As a pro he is 3-0-1 with one knockout and his most recent fight was a victory over Anthony Mora in Montreal, Quebec, in September 2025. Outside of boxing, Walton’s acting credits include Euphoria, Samaritan, The Umbrella Academy and The Addams Family 2.

“Henry Cejudo is an Olympic gold medalist and a former UFC champion, so I know exactly the level of athlete I’m stepping in there with,” Walton said. “This fight came up out of nowhere and I stepped up without hesitation. I stay ready for moments like this. This is boxing, and this is my world.”

The Cejudo–Walton bout will headline the Misfits Boxing card at James L. Knight Arena and the event promotion has indicated the fight will be broadcast live only on @DAZNCombat.
