Himanshu Dhillon takes silver and Rudrankksh Patil bronze in men’s 10m air rifle at Asian Games 2026

Himanshu Dhillon won silver and Rudrankksh Patil took bronze in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle individual final at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya on Sunday, with China’s Sheng Lihao claiming gold.

India added to its medals haul in shooting after also finishing second in the men’s 10m air rifle team event; the individual podium thus contributed to a three-medal return from the men’s 10m competition when team and individual results are combined. Both Himanshu Dhillon and Rudrankksh Patil had qualified for the individual final.

The final’s leaderboard shifted as the contest progressed: after the opening 15 shots Rudrankksh Patil was leading and Himanshu Dhillon was in second, but their positions changed later in the match as Sheng Lihao moved ahead to the top spot.

Sheng Lihao won gold with a score of 254.2, Himanshu Dhillon finished second with 252.4 to claim silver, and Rudrankksh Patil took bronze with 230.9. India therefore secured two individual medals in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle event.

Earlier on Sunday India had already collected two silver medals in shooting, with Elavenil Valarivan taking individual silver and also featuring in the women’s 10m air rifle team that finished as runners-up.

The men’s 10m air rifle team silver, combined with Dhillon’s silver and Patil’s bronze in the individual event, accounted for three medals for India from this discipline at Aichi-Nagoya 2026.

So far in shooting at Asian Games 2026, India have won five medals – four silvers and a bronze.
