Hollman’s unbeaten 83 earns Middlesex first List A final since 1990

Luke Hollman struck an unbeaten 83 as Middlesex completed a two-wicket win over Durham in the One-Day Cup semi-final at Radlett on 16 August 2026 to reach their first List A final for 36 years. Middlesex will meet Leicestershire in the final at Trent Bridge on Sunday, 20 September after the Foxes beat Notts Outlaws by 23 runs.

Hollman’s 83* was a List A best for the all-rounder, his previous highest being 77 not out. The match scorelines read Middlesex 255-8 (48.4 overs): Hollman 83*, Fernandes 44, Helm 40; and Durham 254-7 (50 overs): Rhodes 80, Ackermann 71*.

Middlesex were 145-7 after 30 overs while chasing 255 when Hollman was joined by Tom Helm. The pair added 79 in a partnership that reversed Middlesex’s trajectory, Helm contributing 40 to that stand.

Colin Ackermann had earlier anchored Durham with an unbeaten 71 and then claimed three quick wickets with the ball, one of those dismissals being opener Nathan Fernandes for 44. Ackermann’s bowling returned figures of 3-46 in Middlesex’s innings.

Former England captain Ben Stokes re-joined Durham’s bowling attack late in the match but did not take any further wickets beyond the solitary early scalp of Josh de Caires.

Hollman also made an impact with the ball, taking 3-53, which included two caught-and-bowled dismissals and the wicket of Durham’s top scorer Will Rhodes for 80. Naavya Sharma and Zafar Gohar each took two wickets as Durham were held to 254-7.

Middlesex’s victory sends them to the One-Day Cup final at Trent Bridge on Sunday, 20 September, where they will face Leicestershire following the Foxes’ 23-run semi-final win over Notts Outlaws.
