Hull City agree deal with Eintracht Frankfurt for Jean‑Matteo Bahoya

Hull City have agreed a deal with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign winger Jean‑Matteo Bahoya and he has been granted permission to undergo a medical in East Yorkshire before Tuesday's transfer deadline. The 21‑year‑old France Under‑21 international is understood to be open to the move.
Bahoya has featured in both the Champions League and the Europa League during his time at Frankfurt. He joined Frankfurt from French club Angers in 2024 and has made 78 appearances for the German club, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists. Primarily a left winger, he is able to play across multiple attacking positions. He holds the Bundesliga speed record after being clocked at 23.09mph in a match against Bochum in 2025.
Since moving to Frankfurt he has accumulated the seven goals and eight assists recorded in those 78 appearances. He has previously been linked with several Premier League clubs. Those links form part of a wider transfer interest around the player this summer.
Hull have won their opening two Premier League matches of the season, beating Manchester United and Coventry City, after securing promotion to the top flight through last season's play‑offs. The club has been active in the market and continues to invest heavily in Sergej Jakirovic's squad. If the Bahoya transfer is completed, he could become the Tigers' 13th signing of the summer transfer window.
The immediate next step is the medical in East Yorkshire ahead of Tuesday's deadline, after which the move would need to be finalised for Bahoya to join Hull City.
