Hull loses late lead as 17-year-old Huang wins PIF London Championship

England's Charley Hull surrendered a one-shot lead with two holes to play as 17-year-old Anna Huang won the PIF London Championship at Centurion Club near St Albans on 2026-08-09. Huang finished on -22 to win by two shots over Hull, who closed on -20.

Huang secured her fourth Ladies' European Tour victory and earlier claimed the first of those four wins at the La Sella Open in Spain in September 2025. She led after the opening round with a six-under 67 and produced her best score on Saturday, an eight-under 65, to begin the final round with a three-stroke advantage.

Hull began the week with a one-over 74 but surged into contention on Friday with an 11-under 62, a score that equalled the lowest round in LET history and broke the Centurion Club course record. In the final round she mounted a comeback with birdies on the sixth, ninth, 13th, 15th and 16th to move one clear.

The contest turned on the penultimate hole when Hull four-putted the par-three 17th for a double bogey, which returned the lead to Huang. Huang eagled the final hole to secure the title by two shots; Hull birdied the 18th for a 69 to finish on -20 and was three clear of Singapore's Shannon Tan.

Huang described the finish to the LET website: "That was probably the most thrilling round of golf of my life, that was crazy, I'm just so shocked." She added: "I knew coming down three tough holes was not easy and I tried to focus on each shot because anything can happen in golf and I stayed in my own lane. "I can't believe I made another eagle. I focused on the putt and made a good stroke, and it went in. "Charley is such a phenomenal player and playing with her in the past two days in the final group has been really cool. The crowds have been cheering really loud, so it was really fun to be part of the last group."

Final positions read -22 A Huang (Can); -20 C Hull (Eng); -17 S Tan (Sin); -15 P Tavatanakit (Tha); -14 K Bennett (Aus). Selected others listed in the event were -12 A Hewson (Eng); -11 L Hall (Wal); -10 G Hall (Eng), A Donegan (Ire).

Hull had been on course for what would have been her 10th professional title and sixth LET success before the late reversal, leaving Huang as the champion at the Centurion Club.
