Hunt, Duplantis and Hunter Bell in action as Birmingham 2026 reaches day seven

On 16 August 2026 at the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships, athletes including Hunt, Duplantis and Hunter Bell were in action in the final session on day seven.

There was a security scare at Alexander Stadium.

It’s been quite the Euros for Ireland and they had strong backing in Birmingham. Paul O'Donnell said he was struggling in the marathon that morning and credited Irish fans: "It was incredible, to see green and the tricolours all over the course," he said. "The support kept me going. It was much appreciated. It was just a roar: 'Go Ireland, go Paul.'"
