India and the West Indies completed the third and final ODI of their three-match series in Guwahati on 2026-10-03, a high-scoring contest that West Indies won by chasing down 351.

Like the opening two fixtures, the series produced large totals; both sides posted 350-plus scores in the decider and West Indies completed their highest-ever ODI chase. India had chosen to chase in the first two matches of the series and successfully overhauled targets of 300 and 406 in those games.

India elected to bat in the final ODI but lost Shubman Gill for 1 and Virat Kohli for 0 inside the first three overs. Rohit Sharma and Ruturaj Gaikwad rebuilt the innings with a 137-run partnership, Gaikwad making 57 off 69 balls while Rohit fell for 92 off 85, eight runs short of a century. KL Rahul finished the innings with an unbeaten 129* off 87 balls — his ninth ODI century and his highest ODI score — as India posted 351/7.

West Indies required an exceptional effort to chase and received it from captain Shai Hope, who struck an unbeaten 162 off 143 balls to steer the side to the target. Hope had scored a century in the second ODI and carried that form into the finale; he was assisted in the chase by Amir Jangoo (67) and Keemo Paul (44).

Across the three games, the series’ top run-getters were led by Shubman Gill, with other notable finishers including Shai Hope, Amir Jangoo and Rohit Sharma. Jangoo produced one century and two half-centuries and ended the series with 239 runs, while Rohit accumulated 225 and John Campbell finished with 173.

Kuldeep Yadav finished as the leading wicket-taker of the series, claiming seven wickets in three games. Jayden Seales took four wickets in three games; Prasidh Krishna and Gurnoor Brar took three wickets apiece, and Keemo Paul finished with two.

Team India won the ODI series 2-1, and Shubman Gill concluded the three-match set as the leading run-scorer with 334 runs in three games.
