India will send a 508-member contingent to the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, which runs from September 19 to October 4, and has named a 20-member fencing squad for the tournament.

The country arrives aiming to match its 106-medal haul from the previous edition in Hangzhou, while India remain without a fencing medal in 19 appearances at the Asian Games.

At Hangzhou 2022, only CA Bhavani Devi and Tanishka Khatri advanced to the quarter-finals, in the women’s Sabre and Épée respectively; the remainder of India’s fencers did not progress beyond the Round of 32.

CA Bhavani Devi and Tanishka Khatri will target better results and a podium finish at the Aichi-Nagoya Games, and Commonwealth Fencing Championships gold medallists Karan Singh Gurjar and Vishal Thapar are entered in the men’s events.

Coverage in India will be available via live-stream on the SonyLIV app and website, with television broadcasts on the Sony Sports Network channels.
