India beat Nepal 48–24 at Tokai Citizens Gymnasium to reach Asian Games 2026 women's kabaddi final

India’s women’s kabaddi team defeated Nepal 48–24 in the semifinal at the Tokai Citizens Gymnasium on Friday to reach the gold medal match at the Asian Games 2026. The victory extended India’s unbeaten title defence in the tournament.

India’s raiders amassed 35 points during the match while Nepal managed only 18, and the Indian defence forced three all-outs across the contest. Sanju Devi was central to India’s raiding effort, repeatedly breaching Nepal’s defensive formation to keep the scoreboard moving. The win secured India a place in the final.

India seized control in the opening period and led 31–17 at halftime. That lead was built on 23 raid points and 4 bonus points, and India inflicted two all-outs on Nepal before the break. Nepal reached 17 at the interval but could not narrow the margin.

The second half saw India add a further 17 points, including another all-out, to finish the match 48–24. Nepal’s response after the restart produced five touch points and two bonus points, which were insufficient to challenge India’s advantage. India maintained comfortable control through the closing stages.

Nepal remained competitive in patches, collecting 13 touch points and executing a Super Tackle in the first half, but their efforts did not translate into sustained momentum. India’s defence restricted Nepal’s attacking opportunities throughout the match, limiting their scoring chances.

With the win, India advances to the gold medal match, which will be played at the Tokai Citizens Gymnasium on Saturday, September 26, against the winner of the second semifinal between Iran and Chinese Taipei. India will be chasing a successive Asian Games title, continuing a campaign that has shown little sign of a challenge from the rest of the field.
