India beat Republic of Korea 63–31 in Asian Games Group A match

India defeated the Republic of Korea 63–31 at the Tokai Citizens Gymnasium on Tuesday morning in their second Group A match at the Asian Games 2026. Captain Sunil Kumar’s side took early control and never let go.

The victory extended India’s unbeaten start in the tournament. They had already beaten hosts Japan and now Korea in successive Group A outings. The result keeps India on course to top Group A.

India led 34–14 at the interval, a first-half advantage built on 23 out points and seven bonus points in the opening half alone. The hosts recorded two all-outs in the first period that the Republic of Korea could not respond to. Korea’s raiders managed just 10 touch points before the break.

The second half followed a similar pattern as India added a further 29 points after the restart and inflicted one more All-Out. India’s bonus-point tally was stretched to 17 for the match. Korea’s response produced 17 points in the second half but was insufficient to narrow the margin.

India’s raiding unit finished the match with 38 points to Korea’s 23. The Republic of Korea struggled to find gaps in the Indian defensive line.

The men’s team next takes on Bangladesh on September 23 in Group A action as they continue their pursuit of a ninth Asian Games gold in the last ten editions.
