India beat South Korea to win the recurve women’s team gold at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya on Friday, the nation’s first-ever final in the event.

South Korea entered the match as favourites after three of their archers placed inside the top four in the qualification round, while India’s best qualifier had been 10th. The Indian team included Kumkum, Kirti and Ankita, who had been cautioned to avoid the 7s and 8s that had troubled them in their semifinal win over China.

In men’s volleyball classification for 5th–8th place, India held a 2-0 lead over South Korea, having taken the opening sets 25-16 and 25-20. Reports stated the third set was underway with the score 1-1, leaving India one set away from victory in that match.

India’s men’s hockey team have qualified for the final. The Indian women’s hockey side will meet China in the final, a match that carries both the gold medal and a place at the LA 2028 Olympics, and that fixture was scheduled to begin at 3:30pm.

Live updates noted Day 13 of India’s campaign at Aichi-Nagoya 2026, with athletes competing across boxing, archery, hockey and other sports. The Indian contingent was listed in eighth place on the overall medal tally, and a full schedule for India on October 2 was published in the live coverage.

India’s immediate confirmed fixture is the women’s hockey final against China at 3:30pm, a match that offers a gold medal and Olympic qualification.
