India drops out of Asian Games top 10 despite seven medals on Day 8

India added seven medals on Day 8 of the Asian Games.

The haul comprised two silver medals in squash and five in athletics.

Parul Chaudhary set a new national record in the women's 3000m steeplechase and won bronze; boxers Parveen Hooda, Ankush Panghal and Narender secured medals by reaching the semifinals, and India did not win any golds, dropping out of the top 10 in the overall standings.
