India move atop Group A after Day 2 of Asian Games men's kabaddi
India rose to the top of Group A after Day 2 of the men's kabaddi competition at the Asian Games 2026, beating South Korea 63-31 to register their second straight win. Several other matches on Day 2 produced decisive scorelines and led to notable shifts in both groups' standings.

The Group A table changed markedly after Day 2: India sit top with two wins from two matches. Bangladesh hold two wins from three games after losing to Japan on Day 2. Japan are third with one win in two matches and will aim to win their remaining fixtures to reach the semi-finals. Chinese Taipei occupy fourth place after losing their opening match. The Republic of Korea lie at the bottom of Group A with two defeats, a position the report describes as leaving their chance of finishing in the top two very slim.
Group B standings were also affected by Day 2 results. Pakistan consolidated first place in Group B after beating Nepal. Thailand, having won both of their matches, sit behind Pakistan. Iran are third with one win from one game after their Day 2 victory over Nepal. Nepal remain fourth with zero wins from three matches and, according to the report, are officially out of the tournament and will not qualify for the semi-finals. Malaysia are at the bottom of Group B with zero wins in two games.
The points table remains open, with the report stating any two teams can still qualify for the semi-finals at this moment. Bangladesh have one match remaining, against favourites for the gold, India.
