India name seven-member Wushu squad for Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games

India have named a seven-member Wushu squad for the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, which run from September 19 to October 4. The country is one of 46 teams taking part in the continental event.

India enter the 20th Asian Games with prior success in Wushu, having won a silver medal at Hangzhou 2022. Bimoljit Singh earned the nation's first Wushu medal at the Asian Games with a bronze in the men’s 60 kg event at the 2006 Doha Games. Naorem Roshibina Devi’s silver in the women’s sanda 60kg counted as India’s 10th Wushu medal at the tournament. Overall, India have collected 10 Wushu medals at the Asian Games: two silvers and eight bronzes since 2006.

Naorem Roshibina Devi has been named in the Indian contingent for Aichi-Nagoya as a late replacement for Divyanshi Choudhary. Vikrant Baliyan will represent India in the men’s 75kg sanda event. Baliyan is a World Wushu Championships bronze medallist.

Wushu competition at the Asian Games 2026 will be available to viewers in India via live stream on the SonyLIV app and website. Television coverage will be carried on the Sony Sports Network channels.

India will head to the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games aiming to add to its Wushu medal tally at the 20th edition of the continental tournament, with coverage accessible to Indian viewers on SonyLIV and Sony Sports Network during the Games.
