India have recalled multiple players to a 15-member One-Day International squad for the three-match series against the West Indies that begins on September 27 in Thiruvananthapuram. The tour will also feature five T20Is and the ODI set-up forms part of India’s preparation for the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Selectors named a blend of experienced campaigners and newcomers after several regular white-ball players were unavailable due to Asian Games commitments. Shreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah are among those not in the ODI squad because of the Games, creating openings across the batting and bowling departments. Hardik Pandya is also unavailable for the West Indies series, a factor that influenced selection choices.

Ravindra Jadeja has been recalled to the ODI side after missing India’s series against England and will provide all-round options in both batting and bowling. Mohammed Siraj has returned to the squad and will be part of the pace attack alongside Prasidh Krishna and Gurnoor Brar, with Jasprit Bumrah unavailable due to his Asian Games commitment.

Nitish Kumar Reddy was moved from India’s Asian Games squad into the ODI squad; his inclusion comes with Hardik Pandya unavailable for the West Indies series. The switch reflects a direct change between the two event squads.

Two players have earned maiden ODI call-ups: Jammu and Kashmir pacer Auqib Nabi, rewarded for performances in domestic competition and County Cricket, and all-rounder Naman Dhir, selected on the back of his performances in Punjab domestic cricket. Both players have been named in the 15-member squad for the series.

Ruturaj Gaikwad has returned to India’s ODI setup and is included in the 15-member squad; with Shreyas Iyer unavailable due to his Asian Games duties, Gaikwad is expected to bat at No.4 in the XI. Dhruv Jurel has been recalled to provide an additional wicketkeeping option alongside KL Rahul, and Yashasvi Jaiswal has also been named to offer another top-order option.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been included in India’s 15-member ODI squad, and Shubman Gill will captain India in the three-match ODI series against the West Indies.

India open the three-match ODI series against the West Indies on September 27 in Thiruvananthapuram, with five T20Is to follow as part of the same tour.
