India retain Asian Games women’s compound gold, equal world record

India’s women’s compound archery team — Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi and Prithika Pradeep — retained the gold medal at the Asian Games on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, in Nagoya, defeating China 238-234 in the final at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park. The Indians equalled Korea’s world record in the process.

The trio reached the final after beating South Korea 234-233 at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park. The same Indian women’s compound team had previously won the gold medal at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou.

China finished second in Nagoya; the Chinese team consisted of Wunier, Yue Wang and Fangyao Wei and took the silver medal.

South Korea’s Park Jungyoon, Park Yerin and Kang Yeonseo defeated Chinese Taipei to claim the bronze medal.

The 238-234 score secured gold for India and matched the standing world record held by Korea.

The victory confirms India as the women’s compound team champions at the Asian Games 2026, repeating their title from Hangzhou 2023.
