India rout Thailand 66-28 to reach Asian Games 2026 men's kabaddi final

India defeated Thailand 66-28 in the men's kabaddi semi-final at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, securing victory at the Tokai Citizens Gymnasium on Friday morning to advance to the final.

India began the match on the front foot, with their raiders consistently earning bonus points while a compact defence put Thailand under constant pressure; Devank Dalal was singled out as particularly difficult to contain and helped India inflict an early all-out.

Thailand fought back when Supawit Somrat executed a back hold on Ayan Lohchab and Theeradet Chaisit produced a three-point Super Raid, with Chaisit later producing a raid that led to an all-out on India and brought Thailand back into the contest.

India’s attack, led by Devank Dalal and Arjun Deshwal, continued to accumulate points as Chaisit kept Thailand competitive, but India regained control before half-time by recording another all-out to take a 37-18 lead into the break.

After the interval Dalal sustained his strong performance and Ayan Lohchab also contributed in attack, while Chaisit continued to supply points for Thailand; India secured an additional all-out as their defence, aided by Aslam Inamdar, tightened during the second half.

The statistical breakdown showed India’s 66 points came from 43 outs, 15 bonus points and eight all-out points, while Thailand registered 20 outs, five bonus points, two all-out points and one technical point.

India will meet the winner of the second semi-final between Chinese Taipei and Iran in the gold-medal match, scheduled for 2:30 PM tomorrow.
