India's shooters collect 11 medals at Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya

India's shooters have won 11 medals — one gold, six silver and four bronze — at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, which runs from September 19 to October 4. The shooting contingent has been a major contributor to India’s overall medal haul at the continental tournament.

Shooting has been one of the major contributors to India’s burgeoning medal tally at the continental tournament. The events covered include individual, team and mixed competitions across rifle, pistol and shotgun disciplines.

Elavenil Valarivan opened the medal charge for the Indian shooting contingent by clinching a silver in the women’s 10m air rifle event. Elavenil Valarivan won India’s first individual medal in shooting after clinching silver in the women’s 10m air rifle event.

Kamaljeet Sahlot and Suruchi Singh combined to win India’s gold in the mixed 10m air pistol team event, taking the mixed 10m air pistol team title. Their victory accounted for the sole shooting gold on India’s tally at the Games.

The men’s, women’s, and mixed skeet teams each secured bronze medals in their respective events, making skeet the most successful discipline for India in terms of medals won. Those three bronzes constitute the largest single-discipline contribution to India’s shooting total.

Double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker missed out on medal opportunities in both the 10m air pistol individual and team events, finishing fifth in the former. Her results left her outside the podium in both formats mentioned.
