India begin a three-day warm-up fixture against a Sri Lanka XI at the NCC in Colombo today, ahead of the Test series starting August 15.
The Shubman Gill-led unit has completed two intense training sessions and, with a largely rested squad, feels fresh for the crucial series.
There are injury concerns over Jasprit Bumrah, Washington Sundar and Sai Sudharsan, but the squad is said to have enough quality to secure a scoreline that keeps their World Test Championship final chances alive.
