India take silver in men's 10m air rifle team at Asian Games in Nagoya; Rudrankksh and Himanshu reach individual final

India won the silver medal in the men's 10m air rifle team event at the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, on Monday (September 21, 2026), the trio of Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon and Parth Mane posting a combined total of 1890.1. Rudrankksh Patil and Himanshu Dhillon also advanced to the individual final after the qualification round.

Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon and Parth Mane compiled a team score of 1890.1 to secure second place in the event. China claimed the gold with a world record team total of 1899.0 points, bettering their previous mark by 0.6 points. South Korea took bronze with a team total of 1884.2 points.

In the individual qualification standings, Rudrankksh Patil finished with 631.8 points to occupy third place. Himanshu Dhillon recorded 630.0 points to place seventh and thereby qualified for the individual final. Parth Mane scored 628.3 points and finished 10th, missing out on a place in the individual final.

The men's silver added to India’s shooting medal count at Nagoya following another second-place finish in the women's 10m air rifle team event. Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod combined to win silver for India in the women's team competition. Elavenil Valarivan subsequently won a medal in the women's individual competition.

The report noted India's previous showing at the Hangzhou Asian Games, where the country's shooting contingent produced a record 22-medal haul.
