India take women's 50m rifle 3-position team silver in Nagoya; Tilottama Sen and Vidarsa Vinod reach individual final

India won the silver medal in the women's 50m rifle 3-position team event at the Asian Games in Nagoya on September 26, 2026, and Tilottama Sen and Vidarsa Vinod advanced to the individual final. The Indian trio finished second in the team standings on Saturday following the qualification stage.

The Indian team of Tilottama Sen, Vidarsa Vinod and Ashi Chouksey aggregated 1763 to claim the silver medal. China secured gold with a game record total of 1773, while Kazakhstan took bronze with 1754.

After the kneeling and prone stages of individual qualification, Ashi Chouksey and Tilottama Sen were level on 395, with Ashi recording 25 inner 10s and Tilottama 23 ahead of the standing series. Those scores positioned both shooters among the early leaders before the final position was contested.

Tilottama, ranked 107 in the world, produced a stronger standing series to finish with 590 across the three stages and entered the eight-women final in third place. World number 15 Vidarsa staged a recovery in the later stages of qualification to end sixth overall with a total of 588.

World number 18 Ashi, who had been performing well at one stage of the qualification, finished with 585 and narrowly missed out on a place in the final. Her earlier tally of 395-25x after two positions underscored how the standing series reshaped the final line-up.

The 50m rifle 3 positions event requires shooters to compete in kneeling, prone and standing positions, with qualification scores determining the eight finalists for the individual medal contest.

Tilottama Sen and Vidarsa Vinod will contest the eight-woman individual final.
