India to face Russia in FIFA Women's international friendly at Kishore Bharati Krirangan on 11 October 2026
India will play Russia in their second international friendly of the October 2026 window at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan on Sunday, 11 October 2026; the fixture is part of the FIFA Women's International Friendlies.
The Indian women's team arrive determined to recover from a 0-4 loss to Russia in a recent friendly that also snapped their five-match winning streak, while Russia travel looking to maintain the form they showed in that win. Crispin Chettri is the head coach of the Indian women’s football team and Yuri Krasnozhan leads the Russian side; Chettri may not have his strongest squad available with many key first-team players not at his disposal.
Chettri is expected to make tactical changes from the previous game to shore up the defence and prevent Russia from dominating proceedings as they did last time, and he has called for his players to be braver and sharper in the final third. The coaching staff view a big win or at least a fighting draw as a potential morale booster for the Blue Tigresses, while another heavy defeat at home would be particularly damaging.
Yuri Krasnozhan has urged his players not to be complacent and will push for his side to continue playing incisive attacking football to put the hosts under pressure and improve team chemistry. The Russian plan also emphasises being defensively mobile and compact in order to frustrate India and control the tempo; another strong result would bolster confidence after the last meeting.
