India to face Sri Lanka in women's cricket final at Asian Games in Nagoya

India will meet Sri Lanka in the women's cricket final at the Asian Games in Nagoya on Tuesday (September 22, 2026), the organisers confirmed. The match follows nine days of competition in which India has been prominent.

The third day of competition, on Monday (September 21, 2026), ended with India on six medals — four silver and two bronze — and still seeking a first gold at these Games. Indian shooters contributed three medals on Monday, including a double podium in the 10m air rifle event in Nagoya. Himanshu Dhillon won his maiden international individual medal at the senior level, pipping Rudrankksh Patil to a silver. The two, together with Parth Mane, also won silver as a team.

India secured silver in the men's 10m air rifle team event and Rudrankksh Patil and Himanshu Dhillon advanced to the individual finals, according to the competition updates.

In the women's cricket bronze medal match, Pakistan elected to bat first against Bangladesh. Indian teams in hockey wore saffron jerseys in their Asian Games 2026 opening matches, a decision that sparked controversy over kit colours.
