India to meet Nigeria in Commonwealth Kabaddi Championship 2026 in Ahmedabad
India will face Nigeria in the Commonwealth Kabaddi Championship 2026 at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex in Ahmedabad on Monday, October 26, with India having opened the tournament with three straight wins.
India began the competition with victories over England (46–26), Uganda (44–30) and Malaysia (37–23). The Surjeet Singh-led side have won all three matches but, according to the report, fans remain disappointed that the team has not yet produced a perfect performance and have yet to win by a large margin; India are considered clear favourites in the absence of Iran from the tournament.
Nigeria have lost both of their opening games by heavy scores, falling 17–66 to Tanzania and 18–68 to England, a start the source describes as disappointing. Those results leave Nigeria searching for their first points as they prepare to meet the unbeaten Indians on Day 4 of the championship.
India's squad named in the report comprises Surjeet Singh (C), Ajit Pawar, Parvesh Bhainswal, Shubham Shinde, Yogesh Dahiya, Nitesh Kumar, Deepak Sankar, Sachin Tanwar, Naveen Kumar, Pankaj Mohite, Aditya Shinde, Shivam Patare, Bharat Hooda and Neeraj Narwal. The Nigeria roster listed is Aneozen Uba, Bassey Essesien, Collins Eyo, Edem Ita, Edidiong Sunday, Eko Ugbe, Ekpe Emmanuel, Ekpo Ogbadewu, Eyibio Inyang, Friday Daniel, Izu Udah, Kilani Adebayo, Okon Edet and Prince Udah.
