India will face Pakistan in the men’s hockey semi-final at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Thursday, October 1, with the fixture scheduled at the Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium in Kakamigahara. The winner will advance to the gold medal match.

India enter the knockout as defending champions after completing a flawless Pool A campaign, winning all five group matches. Their pool results were 13-1 over Indonesia, 16-1 versus Sri Lanka, 8-2 against South Korea, 2-0 over hosts Japan and 10-0 versus Bangladesh, producing 49 goals across the stage. Dilpreet Singh has nine goals at the tournament, while Abhishek and captain Harmanpreet Singh have scored eight each. Midfielder Raj Kumar Pal suffered a thumb injury in the Bangladesh game and was replaced by Nilakanta Sharma ahead of the semi-final.

Pakistan progressed as Pool B runners-up, recording victories of 9-0 against Thailand, 5-1 over Uzbekistan, 3-0 versus China and 7-2 against Oman, with their only defeat a 5-4 loss to Pool B winners Malaysia.

Viewers in India can watch the semi-final live on the Sony Sports Ten network, with coverage scheduled across Sony Sports Ten 3, Sony Sports Ten 4 and Sony Sports Ten 5 SD/HD channels. The match will also be live-streamed in India on the SonyLIV app and website with a required subscription. In Pakistan and across the rest of the Indian subcontinent, SonyLIV and the Sony Sports Network will stream the Aichi-Nagoya Games, including the India vs Pakistan men’s hockey semi-final match.

Broadcasters outside the subcontinent include TBS Television in Japan. In South Korea, the tournament will be live-streamed by Naver while JTBC will provide television coverage.

The semi-final is set to start at 4:30 PM local time (1:00 PM IST) on October 1 at the Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium in Kakamigahara. Viewers in India can tune into Sony Sports Ten or access the live stream on SonyLIV with a subscription for live coverage.
