India to play five T20Is in New Zealand from October 22 to November 1, 2026

India will open a five-match T20I series against New Zealand in Christchurch on October 22, 2026, with the final T20I scheduled for November 1. The opening game is set for Hagley Oval in Christchurch with a 12:30 PM IST start.
India arrive in New Zealand after a home five-match T20I series against West Indies that finished 2-2 when the series decider was called off. The last match, at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, saw India reach 118 runs for five wickets in 7.4 overs before rain halted play. Ishan Kishan scored 30 off 10 balls and Naman Dhir remained unbeaten on 24 off six balls in that interrupted game, and the washout ended India’s run of winning 12 T20I series in a row at home.
The tour will feature matches across all three formats, with T20Is first, followed by ODIs and Tests. Officials and team management have said the schedule will give players time to adjust to New Zealand’s conditions before the ODI and Test matches. The series also offers an opportunity for the visiting side to evaluate combinations ahead of the longer formats.
The five T20Is are scheduled between October 22 and November 1, 2026. After the opening fixture at Hagley Oval on October 22, the second T20I will also be played in Christchurch on October 24. The remaining three matches are set for Wellington, Auckland and Hamilton.
India will seek a positive start after the 2-2 result against West Indies and will aim for strong contributions from both bat and ball to begin the New Zealand tour on a winning note. The T20 leg is intended to provide match practice and clarity on selection for the subsequent ODI and Test games.
India’s next T20I series is confirmed as five matches against New Zealand from October 22 to November 1, 2026, beginning at Hagley Oval, Christchurch, with the final T20I scheduled for November 1.
