India U-15 to meet Afghanistan U-15 in FIFA U-15 World Cup Tier C tie in Baku

India U-15, coached by Bibiano Fernandes, face Afghanistan U-15, coached by Elias Ahmad Monawer, at the Hosavan Competition Complex in Baku, Azerbaijan on October 29, 2026 in a FIFA U-15 World Cup Tier C fixture kicking off at 13:00 IST; both sides enter after winning their second-day Tier C matches to secure quarter-final berths in the lower bracket.

India arrived in Baku as pre-tournament favourites to top Group K and qualify for Tier A but a draw with Grenada and a heavy defeat to Senegal left them third in the group; they lost their opening Tier C match to Honduras 2-1 before overturning a 0-2 deficit to beat Trinidad and Tobago 3-2, scoring three consecutive goals in six minutes.

Afghanistan finished third in Group AE behind Russia and Turkiye, collecting 9 points from five games while scoring 11 and conceding 16; in Tier C play they were defeated 6-4 by Thailand in their first match and then recorded a 6-2 victory over Namibia to advance to the lower-bracket quarter-finals.

The Tier C fixtures at the Hosavan Competition Complex determine placings for positions 81 to 88 in the FIFA U-15 World Cup; both India and Afghanistan secured places in that quarter-final phase through their respective wins on the latter day of group play.

Matches in this stage are 45 minutes in duration and the tournament is scheduled across two days; the report notes both head coaches will be hoping to select fully fit squads with no injury concerns for the clash.

The India v Afghanistan fixture will be streamed live on DAZN. For live updates and coverage, Khel Now directs readers to its Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube channels and to its Android and iOS apps, as well as community groups on WhatsApp and Telegram.

Both teams progress into the Tier C quarter-finals in the lower bracket and will contest places 81 to 88 in the competition following their wins earlier in the day.
