India U-19 aim to finish off Australia in final multi-day match in Ahmedabad

India under-19 will seek to complete their dominance over Australia under-19 when the second and final multi-day match of the developmental tour starts at Narendra Modi Stadium Ground 'A' in Ahmedabad on Monday. The hosts have already beaten Australia in three one-day games and a four-day 'Test' in Rajkot during the tour.
India have enjoyed a near-perfect fortnight, with several players contributing across formats, and the series has been led by Lakshya Raichandani and Yashbardhan Chauhan. Seventeen-year-old opener Lakshya struck 240 in the previous four-day match, the second-highest score by an Indian in youth Tests, and his double century helped India post 494 and beat Australia by an innings and 48 runs.
Yashbardhan Chauhan combined a half-century with off-spin in the same game and worked in tandem with left-arm slow bowler Ishan Om to keep Australia under pressure. Mohit Ulva has emerged during the series as a pace bowler to watch.
For Australia, Blake Cattle has been the standout batsman, scoring centuries in both innings of the previous 'Test'. Zed Hollick transferred his one-day form into the longer format but was unable to convert his half-century into a larger contribution.
Australia's tour to date has produced promising individual performances that have not been sustained long enough to change the series outcome, and the final multi-day match offers the visiting youngsters another chance to build on those flashes of brilliance. For India, the task is straightforward: finish the job well.
The match starting on Monday at Narendra Modi Stadium Ground 'A' in Ahmedabad will conclude the developmental tour between the two under-19 sides.
