India U15 defeated Bahrain U15 4-3 at the Hovsan Competition Complex in Baku, Azerbaijan, during the fourth matchweek of Group K at the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival. The victory came after a flurry of early and late goals that settled a contest between two Asian sides.

India, coached by Bibiano Fernandes, entered the match as Group K leaders and faced Bahrain, who had begun the campaign strongly after Matchday One. India opened the scoring when Macdonnish scored in the 16th minute and Lalremruatfela extended the lead in the 19th minute to make it 2-0.

The game moved toward a 2-2 scoreline before India produced two quick goals to pull clear and make it 4-2. Bahrain added a late goal as a consolation to reduce the deficit but could not avoid a 4-3 defeat.

Goal scorers for India in the match included Nibas Meetei, Lalremruatfela and Macdonnish. The final scoreline read India 4, Bahrain 3.

Other results from Matchweek Four in Group K included Senegal’s 9-0 win over Laos and Cameroon’s 4-1 victory over Grenada, leaving three teams still in contention to qualify for Tier A of the competition.

The win helps India to retain their position in the top. They are now just a draw away from securing a finish atop the points table and qualifying for Tier A of the FIFA U-15 World Cup. Three teams are still in contention to qualify for Tier A. India needs a win. Senegal needs a win and Cameroon to drop points to qualify. For Cameroon, a win is mandatory, and they must hope that India does not win against Senegal.

India’s next Group K match is against Senegal, scheduled to kick off at 9:00 PM IST on October 26, 2026, in Baku, Azerbaijan; the match will be streamed live on DAZN.
