India U17 to play two friendlies in Myanmar ahead of U17 Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers

India U17 will play two international friendlies against Myanmar at the StarCity Sports Club in Thanlyin, Myanmar, on October 4 and October 7, 2026, as part of preparations for the AFC U17 Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2027 Qualifiers.

These fixtures will be the Blue Colts’ first international friendlies since beginning their preparatory camp under head coach Mehrajuddin Wadoo in Margao earlier this month. India have been drawn in Group E of the AFC U17 Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2027 Qualifiers. The qualifying competition will be staged in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from November 11 to 20. Group E includes hosts Malaysia, Palestine, Singapore and Guam.

India’s group schedule begins against Singapore on November 11 and continues with Guam on November 14. Their third group match is versus Palestine on November 17 and the final Group E fixture is against Malaysia on November 20. All Group E matches will be played at the MP Selayang Stadium in Selayang.

Head coach Mehrajuddin Wadoo said, "These matches will be an important part of our preparation for the qualifiers. Myanmar are a good opponent at this age group, and like India, they also qualified for the AFC U17 Asian Cup this year." "Playing two international matches away from home will give us a good opportunity to assess the players and work on different aspects of our game before November."

Myanmar, who qualified for the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2026, will provide India with relevant preparation ahead of the 2027 Qualifiers. India also played two friendly matches against Myanmar in Yangon in March 2026. The Blue Colts won the first match 2-1 before the second ended in a goalless draw.

India U17 will meet Myanmar on October 4 and October 7, 2026, with both friendly matches staged at the StarCity Sports Club in Thanlyin, Myanmar, as final international tune-ups ahead of their Group E campaign in Kuala Lumpur that begins on November 11.
