India will meet Uruguay in an international friendly at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on 6 October 2026, with full lineups announced and Ryan Williams named in the starting XI.

India enter the match on the back of a 1-1 draw with Panama in which Ryan Williams scored and a positive display against Brazil despite losing; Panama are listed as FIFA World Cup 2026 participants and Brazil are five-time world champions. Uruguay are in transition under new head coach Diego Forlán after Marcelo Bielsa was sacked following the FIFA World Cup 2026 elimination; La Celeste have played two friendlies in Asia, winning one and losing one, and have trained in Kolkata for more than four days.
