The match is the final of three internationals India are playing during the September-October FIFA window, following outings against Panama and Brazil on September 25 and October 3, respectively. This fixture completes India’s series of friendlies against FIFA World Cup nations in the current international window. Uruguay, who have won the FIFA World Cup twice, have named a squad that includes Ronald Araujo and Darwin Nunez and are led by head coach Diego Forlan.

Ticket prices span from ₹749 up to ₹9,999 across a ten-category structure. The lowest-priced tickets, at ₹749, are for Block D1 Silver and B1 Silver, located behind either goal. The published tiering provides multiple options for supporters to choose seating based on budget and view.

To buy tickets supporters must install the District app, set their location to Kolkata or search directly for the India v Uruguay fixture, then open the match booking page. On that page users should select the "select seats" option, choose seats according to preference, confirm quantity and other booking details, and proceed to payment. After a successful transaction an e-ticket will be generated for entry to the match.
