India v West Indies 2026: ODI head-to-head records ahead of three-match series

India will open a three-match home ODI series against the West Indies with the first game in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday, September 27, 2026. Shubman Gill will continue to lead India in ODI cricket.

The Indian squad includes Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja among its experienced names. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are set to return to ODI cricket after a two-month break and were named in India’s squad for the West Indies series. West Indies will look to put up a strong fight in the three-match set.

India and the West Indies have met 142 times in One-Day Internationals; India have won 72 matches and West Indies 64, with two ties and four no results. In the last 10 ODI meetings between the sides, India have won nine and West Indies one.

Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer in IND vs WI ODIs, with 2,261 runs in 43 matches, including nine centuries. Rohit Sharma and Sachin Tendulkar are also listed among India’s leading run-scorers against the West Indies. Former West Indies batter Desmond Haynes scored 1,357 runs in 36 ODIs versus India.

Ravindra Jadeja and Courtney Walsh are the joint top wicket-takers in the rivalry, with 44 wickets each. Anil Kumble and Kapil Dev are also included among India’s leading wicket-takers against the Caribbean side. Patrick Patterson and Ravi Rampaul are named among the West Indies’ leading wicket-takers in matches versus India.

The second ODI will be played in Guwahati on September 30, with the series concluding in New Chandigarh on October 3. The series will be an important one for Shubman Gill.
