India vs Thailand in Asian Games 2026 men's kabaddi semi-final at Tokai on Sept 25

India will meet Thailand in the men's kabaddi semi-final 1 at the Asian Games 2026 in Japan on Friday, September 25; the match is scheduled to begin at 10:45 AM IST at the Tokai Citizen Gymnasium.

India enter the semi-final as the only unbeaten side in Group A, having won all four of their league matches. They opened with a 49-24 victory over Japan and followed with a 63-31 win against South Korea. India then beat Bangladesh 48-25 and completed the group stage with a 37-21 win over Chinese Taipei.

Thailand won their first three group games against Nepal, Malaysia and Pakistan before suffering an 83-27 defeat to Iran in the final league match. That 83-27 result is the highest number of points conceded in a single game by any country in this year’s iteration of the Asian Games. This is the first time Thailand have reached the knockout stage in this tournament since making their debut in 1998, and the team will have to work on the mistakes Iran exposed as they take on tournament favourites India in the semi-final 1.

The Sony Sports Network holds the broadcasting rights for the Asian Games 2026 in India. Matches will be telecast live on Sony Sports 1, Sony Sports 2 and Sony Sports 5, with regional-language coverage on Sony Sports 3 (Hindi) and Sony Sports 4 (Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada).
