India win silver in men's 10m air rifle team at Asian Games 2026; Rudrankksh and Himanshu into individual final
India won silver in the men's 10m air rifle team event at the Asian Games 2026 at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Gallery on Monday, September 21, with Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon and Parth Mane making up the trio. Rudrankksh Patil and Himanshu Dhillon also advanced to the eight-shooter individual final; Parth Mane did not qualify.
The medal was India’s third at the Asian Games 2026. The Indian team total was 1890.1, while China claimed gold with 1899.0 courtesy of Sheng Lihao, Ma Sihan and Zhang Changhong; China’s 1899.0 was a Qualification World Record, 0.6 better than the mark China set in 2025, and left India 8.9 points adrift. South Korea won bronze with 1884.2, which put India 5.9 points clear of third place.
The team score was the sum of each shooter’s individual qualification total. Rudrankksh led India with 631.8, Dhillon scored 630.0 to sit seventh in qualifying, and Mane finished on 628.3 to bring the team to 1890.1. Rudrankksh’s best series was a 106.0, Dhillon peaked at 106.3 in his fourth series, and Mane recorded a 106.7 in his sixth series, the highest single series by any Indian.
Beyond the medal positions, Indonesia finished on 1882.5. Iran recorded 1880.7 and Japan 1880.1. Kazakhstan (1871.4) and Vietnam (1870.9) completed the standings.
Sheng Lihao topped individual qualifying with 635.4, an Asian Games qualification record, and Ma Sihan was second on 633.0. South Korea’s Park Hajun was fourth with 631.4 and Indonesia’s Kanurian Al Ghozi was sixth with 630.2; Zhang Changhong finished fifth with 630.6 but missed out on the final due to the two-shooter-per-country qualification rule. That rule opened a place for South Korea’s Shin Minki, who qualified on 629.2 despite ranking ninth, while Mongolia’s Bayaraa Nyantai (629.5) also made the final. Rudrankksh trailed Sheng by 3.6 points and Dhillon by 5.4; Mane’s 628.3 was 0.9 short of the final cutoff.
Rudrankksh Patil and Himanshu Dhillon will contest the eight-shooter individual final at 9:00 AM IST on Monday.
